Everything you should know about the big day
Planning a wedding requires organization and attention to detail, but with the right preparation, your big day can be as wonderful and memorable as you always dreamed it would be.
Planning can be both exciting and overwhelming which is why I always advise hiring a wedding planner. Here is a detailed guide to help you prepare:
1. PRE-SALE
-The budget: Establish how much you are willing to spend and divide it into categories (wedding planner, officiant or master of ceremony, wardrobe, banquet, decoration, etc.).
– Choose the date: Consider the availability of locations, as well as the season of the year.
– The guest list: Make a preliminary guest list and adjust it according to your budget and venue capacity.
– The choice of the place: Visit several places before deciding and book in advance.
– Invitations: Design and send invitations well in advance, usually 6 to 8 weeks before the event.
– Choosing a photographer and videographer: Hire professionals with experience in weddings. Check their portfolio and references.
– Lodging: This is a crucial aspect to ensure the comfort of the guests, especially if they come from out of town. Search for hotels near the wedding venue.
– Makeup and hairstyle: Try different styles and book in advance.
– The dance: It is a key moment that symbolizes the union and celebration. Ensure that everyone has fun and participates in the celebration.
– Gift for the guests: Keep in mind that it is a small detail that symbolizes the gratitude and appreciation of the bride and groom for their presence on this special day.
2. THE CEREMONY
– Decorations: Decoration and theme
. Wedding theme: Choose a theme that reflects your personality and style, and make sure all decorative elements are aligned with this.
. Flowers and Arrangements: Work with a florist to select seasonal flowers that fit your color palette.
– The bride’s dress and the groom’s suit: Start your search early. It has to reflect your personal style and you have to feel comfortable with it. They should make them feel special and confident on their big day.make sure the dress harmonizes with the theme and style of the wedding. Make several fittings of the dress or suit to make sure it fits perfectly.
– Accessories: Complete your look with accessories (veils, jewelry, shoes…).
– Music and entertainment: Choose a good selection of music. You can decide on music at the ceremony, at the meal and at the entertainment. Enter acoustic music, a live band or DJ, and agree on a playlist.
– Legalities and formalities
. Documentation: Make sure you have all the necessary legal documents, such as marriage licenses and certificates.
. Officiant or master of ceremonies: Decide who will officiate the ceremony and confirm details with them.
3. FOOD AND DRINK
– The organization of the tables: Strategic and comfortable for everyone.
– Catering: Organize a menu and beverage tasting to make sure it meets your expectations.
– The Cocktail: It should be an elegant moment where guests can socialize and enjoy appetizers and drinks while celebrating the union of the bride and groom.
– The Cake: Choose your favorite flavors and a sweet design.
– The children’s menu: Choose a menu that is appropriate for them and that they will enjoy.
In short, your big wedding day is much more than just an event. It is an unforgettable chapter in your love story. Every detail matters but the most important thing is love and joy.
